The Dark Crystal Urskeks Parts

These items were used for the creation of the Urskeks. The hand is a resin core, used inside the foam hand mold to create the foam thickness. The wooden twigs are part of the Urskeks "hair" and had snapped off. There was only ever one Urskeks built for the film. It was filmed on second unit, directed by Gary Kurtz against black drapes and filmed from different angles to represent multiple Urskeks. The hands were mechanical. I worked one arm/hand and Dave Barclay worked the other.
